Leslie Cooper, DVM

Dr. Leslie Cooper did not take the traditional route to veterinary medicine.  She graduated from UNCG with a degree in nutrition in 2004 and went on to study classical pastry arts at the French Culinary Institute in New York City. She spent several years in the restaurant industry, and even owned a small but successful chocolate company before making the decision to pursue veterinary medicine.  While it may seem like a drastic change, it came to her naturally – Dr. Cooper has always had a passion for animals both large and small.

Dr. Cooper graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She is particularly interested in animal nutrition, behavior and rehabilitation.  She is also Fear Free certified, and loves to help people and their pets strengthen their bond.  When she is not working, she enjoys working in her garden, riding horses with her family and enjoying time with her dogs, cats and chickens.
